The Hon. the Speaker: Honourable senators, let us observe one minute of silence in memory of our late colleague, the Honourable Senator Hastings, whose death occurred on May 5, 1996.

Honourable senators then stood in silent tribute.

Hon. B. Alasdair Graham (Deputy Leader of the Government): Honourable senators, out of respect for our late colleague, Senator Hastings, I move that the Senate do now adjourn.

The Senate adjourned until tomorrow at 2 p.m.
